The death of Catherine Eileen Landry, wife of Bernard Landry of Rothesay, occurred on Monday, December 9, 2019, in Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on September 8, 1961, in Truro, she was a daughter of George and Shirley (Teed) Walsh. Cathy graduated from Kennebecas­is Valley High School in 1979, and then continued her education in Mount St. Vincent University graduating in 1983 with a Bachelor of Child Study. After graduating, Cathy worked as a Supply Teacher in Lakefield and Fairvale Elementary schools. Cathy loved helping others with their schooling, which inspired her to become a tutor after her profession in teaching. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing cards, being outside, travelling and baking. She enjoyed her time up country on the Washademoa­k Lake and at the cottage in Bouctouche. Most of all, Cathy enjoyed spending time with family; especially her grandchild­ren. Cathy will be remembered for her quick wit, sense of humour and determinat­ion. Besides her loving and devoted husband, Cathy is survived by her daughter, Céline (Shane) Smith; her mother, Shirley (Teed) Walsh; sister, Carla (Paul) Bowes; grandchild­ren, Arlynn and Shannon Smith; nieces, Alicia (Adam) Black, Amanda Bowes and Isabelle Devereux; sister-in-law, Carolyn (Sean); great-nieces and nephews, Benjamin, Charlie and Zoe. Cathy was predecease­d by her father, George; brother, Kevin Walsh; her father and mother-inlaw, Adrien and Geneva Landry; and her brother-in-law, Ronald. Resting in Kennebecas­is Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Rd., Quispamsis (8492119) with visiting on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place in St. Mark’s Catholic Church on Monday, December 16th, at 10 a.m. Interment to take place in St. Alphonse’s Cemetery, Hampton, N.B., in the spring. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, remembranc­es may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, Atlantic Division.
