Man arrested after Dartmouth weapons call

Halifax Regional Police arrested a 19-year-old man early Saturday after responding to a weapons call in Dartmouth.

Police said they were called to 4 Brule St. shortly after 2 a.m. after a disturbance involving a group of people who knew one another.

The caller said a man in an apartment there may have had a firearm.

Members of the force's emergency response team and other officers took a suspect into custody without incident and seized a gun. Police said the young man faces several firearmrelated charges. He was expected to have a bail hearing Saturday evening.
