Grant passed away peacefully with his loving and devoted wife of 70 years, M. Maxine (MacDonald) Clark by his side, and surrounded by his family. Grant was born in Clarksville, Hants Co., to the late Stanley Cuthbert Clark and Elsie Blois (Wallace) Clark McLellan. He is survived by his wife, Maxine; and his adult children, Barbara, Lynn, Susan, Gail and Keith, and their spouses; as well as 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed the company of his beloved fur friend, Mitsey, the Calico Cat. Grant grew up in rural Nova Scotia with his four brothers. At an early age, during the Second World War, he began his career with the Dominion Atlantic Railway (DAR). He worked in various locations throughout the Annapolis Valley as a Train Dispatcher, spending most of his career in Kentville, and later transferring to Saint John, N.B., where he retired. Upon retirement, Grant and Maxine moved to Norton, and lived happily for the next 27 years. He enjoyed tending his garden, and the good country life on the Kennebecasis River. He and Maxine relocated to Rothesay in 2018. Grant was a member of the Anglican Parish of Central Kings Christ Church in Bloomfield, N.B., where he served on the Vestry and as Warden for several years. Besides his parents, Grant was predeceased by his brothers, Harold, John, Ralph and their wives; and is survived by his brother, Robert (Pauline); as well as many nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation or funeral service at this time. At a later date there will be a Celebration of Life Service in Christ Church in Bloomfield, N.B., under the direction of Sherwood Funeral Home. The Interment Service will take place at his family church in Stanley, Nova Scotia. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in Grant’s name to Christ Church, Bloomfield, N.B., Bobby’s Hospice in Saint John, N.B., or the charity of your choice. The family are sincerely grateful for the professional and compassionate care Dad received from the doctors, nurses and staff of 5CS in Saint John Regional Hospital, and the wonderful caring team at Bobby’s Hospice.
