Age 76, of Cole Harbour/ Brookfield. It is with sadness, the family of Darrell Wayne Wright announce his passing on December 13, 2019, following a seven year journey through Alzheimer’s disease. He was the son of the late Norman and Inez Wright. Born December 14, 1942, Darrell grew up in Woodlawn, brought up his family in Cole Harbour and spent the last 12 years in his retirement home in Brookfield. He loved sports and excelled in most. Darrell chose Constructi­on Wiring as his career and spent over 44 years with Portland Electric. As the proud owner for the last 10 of those years, he was well-known and respected in the electrical business. Darrell is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Gail (Redden); and his sons, Wade, Dana (Tara), Joel (Jill); and grandsons, Jonah, Quinn, Ethan, Brandon and Mitchell. He also leaves behind his brother, Winston (Joan); sisters, Barbara MacGregor and Marlene (Daryl) Robicheau. He was a special brother-in-law to Glenna Murphy and Elsie and Jim Locke. Darrell was active in his church and spent many years as a Trustee in South End Baptist and Brookfield Baptist Churches. A visitation will be held 6-9 p.m. on Wednesday, December 18th in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. A Celebratio­n of Life Service will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, December 19th in Brookfield Baptist Church, 35 Highway 289, Brookfield, Rev. Frank Locke officiatin­g. Reception will follow in the church hall. Donations in Darrell’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or Brookfield Baptist Church.
