Beck stars as Mustangs move into first

Mason Beck picked up four assists as the South Shore Mustangs topped Steele Subaru 5-3 to move into first place in the Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League standings on Sunday.

Konnor Daniels added a pair of goals for the Mustangs while Aaron Lane, Cutter Devine and Riley Hurlbert had singles. Sean Freeman and Ben Mercer replied for Steele.

The Mustangs (16-5-4-26) moved past the Halifax McDonalds (17-6-1-35) for first place. On Saturday, Jeremy Robar made 26 saves as the Mustangs blanked the McDonalds 4-0.

Rush 5, Weeks 4: Nick

Mahar had a pair of goals and an assist as Sydney Mitsubishi edged Weeks on Sunday.

Coby McCarron, Brandon Clarke and Brendan MacRitchie also scored for the Rush.

Ryan Greene, Merle Putnam, Kiefer Avery and Lucas Canning replied for Weeks.

In other Saturday action, Daniel LeBlanc scored in overtime as the Cape Breton West Islanders edged the Rush 3-2.
