MacDONALD (Sheffield), Evelyn Marie
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Evelyn Marie MacDonald (Sheffield) of Broad Cove, Lunenburg Co. Marie passed away suddenly on December 17, 2019 at home. Marie was born in North Sydney, on April 19, 1950, and was the eldest of six children. She was predeceased by her father, Merrill Sheffield, and her mother, Ardis Sheffield. She is survived, and will be sorely missed, by her husband, Glenn MacDonald; her sons, Jason Richards (Robyn) of Bridgewater, and granddaughter Mckyla; and Christopher Richards (Marica) of Bridgewater, and grandchildren Matteo and Emma Marie. She is also survived by her sisters, Barbara Barry (Steve) of Conquerall Mills; and Colleen Bent (Carl) of Kentville; and her brothers, David Sheffield (Getty) of Halifax; John Sheffield of Vancouver, B.C.; and Paul Sheffield of Surrey, B.C. She is also survived by her stepdaughter, Glenda Woodworth (Dennis) of Bridgewater; and granddaughter, Danielle MacDonald (Nick) and great-grandchild Peyton; and grandson, Michael, and stepson Darren MacDonald of Bridgewater, and granddaughter Ivy. Marie will be also be sadly missed by her nieces, Paula Marie Barry Mercer (Greg), Maneka Sheffield, and Brittainy Cleveland (Johnny). She is survived as well by her brothers-in-law, Brian MacDonald, Bruce MacDonald and Ronald MacDonald; and her sisters-in-law, Dorothy Royles, Joan Rushton, Valerie MacDonald, Heather MacDonald, Mary Gwen MacDonald, Clara MacDonald and Maude MacDonald. Marie was a graduate of the Nova Scotia Teachers College and Saint Mary’s University and very much enjoyed her teaching career at Pentz Elementary School for 32 years. She will be fondly remembered by her colleagues and friends at work and her students that she was so devoted to. In keeping with Marie’s wishes, there will be no visitation; there will be a small family Celebration of Life Service in St. Andrew’s United Church, 1246 Italy Cross Rd., Crousetown, with Rev. Vivian Moores officiating. Marie derived great pleasure in her service to the Petite Riviere Pastoral Charge as an elder of St. Andrew’s United Church.
