Age 98, of Dyke­land Lodge, Wind­sor, passed away Wed­nes­day, De­cem­ber 18, 2019. Born in Bram­ber on May 30, 1921, she was a daugh­ter of the late Ed­win and Gertrude (Selby) Lake. She was the last sur­viv­ing mem­ber of her im­me­di­ate fam­ily. Min­nie was a mem­ber of Wind­sor United Church, the U.C.W. and served on sev­eral church com­mit­tees. She was an hon­orary and long­time faith­ful mem­ber of theNova Sco­tia Lib­eral Party. She was re­cip­i­ent of the Town of Wind­sor Volunteer of the Year award. For a num­ber of years, she vol­un­teered and served on the Board of New Bound­aries, Wind­sor. She was one of the first vol­un­teers of the Wind­sor and District Christ­mas Dad­dies Show. Min­nie is sur­vived by her son, Gary Wayne (Win­nie LaRu­sic) Lake; grand­chil­dren, Wayne (Becky), Krista Blan­chard (Brian), Craig (Anne-Marie), Cory (Kim); and 15 great-grand­chil­dren. Min­nie was pre­de­ceased by sis­ters, Han­nah Burgess, Jessie Shaw, Gla­dys Lake, Mil­dred Lake, and Mona Sweet; her broth­ers, Vic­tor and Ed­win Lake; great-grand­child, Rielly Docherty. Min­nie was the long-time care­giver of Anna Dodge, Wind­sor. The fam­ily wishes to ex­press their grat­i­tude to the nurs­ing staff of Young Wing at Dyke­land for the care they pro­vided over the last year. A grave­side ser­vice will be held at 2 p.m. Mon­day, De­cem­ber 30th, in Maple­wood Ceme­tery, Wind­sor, with Rev. Bill Gib­son of­fi­ci­at­ing.
