Age 98, of Dykeland Lodge, Windsor, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2019. Born in Bramber on May 30, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Edwin and Gertrude (Selby) Lake. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Minnie was a member of Windsor United Church, the U.C.W. and served on several church committees. She was an honorary and longtime faithful member of theNova Scotia Liberal Party. She was recipient of the Town of Windsor Volunteer of the Year award. For a number of years, she volunteere­d and served on the Board of New Boundaries, Windsor. She was one of the first volunteers of the Windsor and District Christmas Daddies Show. Minnie is survived by her son, Gary Wayne (Winnie LaRusic) Lake; grandchild­ren, Wayne (Becky), Krista Blanchard (Brian), Craig (Anne-Marie), Cory (Kim); and 15 great-grandchild­ren. Minnie was predecease­d by sisters, Hannah Burgess, Jessie Shaw, Gladys Lake, Mildred Lake, and Mona Sweet; her brothers, Victor and Edwin Lake; great-grandchild, Rielly Docherty. Minnie was the long-time caregiver of Anna Dodge, Windsor. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the nursing staff of Young Wing at Dykeland for the care they provided over the last year. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 30th, in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor, with Rev. Bill Gibson officiatin­g.
