TFC af­ter Por­tu­gal winger Bruma

Re­ports are heat­ing up that Por­tu­gal in­ter­na­tional Bruma is be­ing courted by Toronto FC.

Ac­cord­ing to re­ports out of Europe — which are posted on the Ma­jor League Soc­cer web site — the tal­ented winger has fallen out of favour with his cur­rent team PSV Eind­hoven.

Bruma, whose full name is Ar­mindo Tue Na Bangna, joined PSV of the Ere­di­visie, the top Dutch league in 2017, in an $18.3 mil­lion Cdn trans­fer from RB Leipzig. He was a stand­out with Leipzig and also pre­vi­ously Galatasara­y of the Turk­ish league.

TFC GM Ali Cur­tis was re­cently in South Amer­ica and

Europe to scout a prospec­tive at­tacker player to sign as a Des­ig­nated Player af­ter team cap­tain Michael Bradley re-signed ear­lier this month on a TAM deal. Each MLS club can sign three DPs at a price be­yond the salary cap, and the Reds have one DP spot avail­able af­ter Bradley's old con­tract ex­pired.

There are also re­ports out of Europe that 33-year-old French in­ter­na­tional for­ward Olivier Giroud of Premier League club Chelsea is be­ing scouted by TFC, as well as the L.A. Galaxy and In­ter Mi­lan. (Post­media News)
