TFC after Portugal winger Bruma
Reports are heating up that Portugal international Bruma is being courted by Toronto FC.
According to reports out of Europe — which are posted on the Major League Soccer web site — the talented winger has fallen out of favour with his current team PSV Eindhoven.
Bruma, whose full name is Armindo Tue Na Bangna, joined PSV of the Eredivisie, the top Dutch league in 2017, in an $18.3 million Cdn transfer from RB Leipzig. He was a standout with Leipzig and also previously Galatasaray of the Turkish league.
TFC GM Ali Curtis was recently in South America and
Europe to scout a prospective attacker player to sign as a Designated Player after team captain Michael Bradley re-signed earlier this month on a TAM deal. Each MLS club can sign three DPs at a price beyond the salary cap, and the Reds have one DP spot available after Bradley's old contract expired.
There are also reports out of Europe that 33-year-old French international forward Olivier Giroud of Premier League club Chelsea is being scouted by TFC, as well as the L.A. Galaxy and Inter Milan. (Postmedia News)
