SUTHERLAND (Ferron), Muriel
Age 91, Muriel passed away peacefully in Northwood Ivany Place, Bedford, on March 30, 2020. She was born in Montreal to Dorilla (Matthieu) and Arthur Ferron. Muriel was predeceased by her husband, John (Jack) Sutherland; and son, Mark. She is survived by her daughter, Gail, son-in-law, Ian Robinson and her grandchildren, Ashley and Alexis. Muriel received her BFA from École des beaux-arts, Montreal, and worked as an Interior Designer prior to marrying her husband, Jack on August 28, 1953. She returned to work in her early 40’s after her husbands passing working in various management positions. Muriel was an avid bridge player and an active member of the Baie D’urfé Curling Club and Beaconsfield Lawn Bowling Club. She had a passion for sports, travel and the arts. A true artist, she continued to paint throughout her life, into her late 80’s. She was always present, optimistic and had an independent spirit which was an example and inspiration to many. She will be deeply missed. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice. Special thanks to the staff at Northwood Ivany Place, especially those who worked in Seaside Cove, for making Muriel’s final residency a true home. Arrangements have been entrusted to T.J.
