Of Enfield. It is with great sadness the family of Catherine E. Horne announces her passing at the age of 80. She passed away peacefully in Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouc­he, on April 4, 2020 surrounded by the love of her daughter, Tarra, and future son-in-law, Wade, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Halifax, of two Newfoundla­nd parents, the late George L. and Catherine M. (Stacey) Molloy. During her 33 years of Federal Government service, Catherine worked for DND Navy, RCMP, Public Works and Canada Post, Kentville, Truro and Halifax, from where she retired. She enjoyed sewing, crafts and travelling over her favorite province of Newfoundla­nd. She is survived by her special and beloved daughter, Tarra Horne (Wade Handrahan) and cherished grandchild­ren, Aiden and Blake Brunt; niece, Nancy Brown; nephew, Glen Molloy and a large and extended family of wonderful relatives and friends, and a large family of wonderful Newfoundla­nd relatives. Besides her parents, she was predecease­d by her husband, Ronald Ambrose Horne; brothers, George P. Molloy and Vincent Molloy and a sister in infancy. Catherine will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacad­ie. A Celebratio­n of Life will be held at a later date. As Catherine requested, a family graveside service will take place. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Canadian Cancer Society. A special thank you to all the nurses and doctors who cared for Catherine during her illness, especially her palliative care team, nurse Dawn Ross and Dr. Courtney Smith.
