GOULET, Gina Yvonne Marie

-

Age 54 of Shubenacadie. On April 19, 2020 Gina was abruptly taken from this world by an act of senseless violence. Born in Middleton, she was a daughter of Yvan Goulet, of Brooklyn, and the late Rossalyne (Mckee) Goulet. Gina was a vibrant, dynamic woman and a proud mother. Her free spirited independence led her to live a life of fulfilment. Whether she was on the beach in Cuba, on the river bank with her fishing rod, at her cottage with the dogs, spending time with her family, dancing salsa in her living room or enjoying the company of her horse - she always had a smile on her face and gratitude in her heart. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and ability to light up a room. Her laughter and zest for life resonated with anyone she met and she has left this world with much more than she ever took from it. Gina was a survivor. She conquered cancer in 2016 and again in January 2020 but never let it define her life. Her experience was only fuel to live with more love and appreciation in her heart. Gina was a denturist of 27 years. Having the ability to literally put smiles on people’s faces was one of her greatest and proudest achievements. Gina will be sadly missed by her beloved daughter, Amelia (David) Butler; father, Yvan; brother, Rick (Dawn) Goulet; sister, Micheline (Joseph) Kerekes; nieces, Lexi Goulet, Brittany Goulet and Kristian Kerekes; nephew, Julian Kerekes; a number of aunts, uncles and extended family. Cremation has taken place under the care of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. Friends are welcome to sign a guestbook which will be set up outside of Ettinger Chapel Entrance, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie from 1-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28th. This needs to adhere to the Covid-19 guidelines, so we ask that folks take their own pen if possible and adhere to social distancing while briefly leaving their car to sign. Please note that Gina’s family will not be onsite and loitering will be prohibited. A Celebration of Gina’s Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Tributes, words of comfort and memories of Gina may be shared with the family at: www.ettingerfuneralhome.com
