PEARCE, Ralph

-

Age 91 of Hatchet Lake, passed away in his sleep on April 19, 2020 in Camp Hill Veterans’ Memorial Building, QEII. Born on December 2, 1928, he was a son of Ralph Sr. and Elsie Ann (Crocker) Pearce. He grew up in Fairview. In December 1952 he married Sarah Jane "Jean" Guy who was the love of his life for the next 67 years. Earlier that same year, he received a certificate of carpentry and was employed in the trade for 38 years. Even in his "free time" Ralph regularly offered his help in building homes for family and friends alike. In 1972 Ralph purchased a property in Upper Pembroke, Colchester Co., "The Camp", where he could often be found working and where he spent many happy hours hunting or gardening. Ralph was a man of few words who was a hard worker, valued his family, treasured his wife, and enjoyed a cup of tea to the very end. He was the last remaining member of his immediate family. He leaves behind his only child, a cherished son, Raymond (Bernice Doucetpearce), and his dear grandchildren, Dawn Derrien (Eric) and Richard Pearce (Victoria). He is also survived by his much-loved great-grandchildren, Sage, Bella, Vitali and Tristan, all from Alberta. Ralph thought highly of brothers-in-law Roland Guy (Roslyn), Clinton Guy (Donna), Kenneth Hurshman and Richard "Dick" Bevis, and his sister-inlaw, Shirley Hamilton (Lloyd); his many nieces and nephews, and their extended families. He was predeceased, two short months ago, by his wife Jean. He was also predeceased by sisters, Omey Murphy (Martin), Beulah Hurshman, Elsie Fraser (Albert), and Yvonne Bevis; and brother, Stan (Muriel). Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life and interment will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to St. James United Church in Goodwood.
