With great sadness, the children of John Walker of Leminister, Hants Co. (formerly of Avonport, King Co.) share his passing in Valley Regional Hospital on April 17, 2020, at the age of 73 with his daughters by his side. John was born in Windsor and spent his youth on Mckinley Road in Mount Denson. He was the son of the late Murray and Annie (Patterson) Walker. He is survived by his children, Michelle (Andrew) Beers, Kentville; Raye (Donna) Myles, Bedford; and Dorothy Myles, Kentville; grandchild­ren, Ben, Nathan, Nicole, Sara, Chalis and Skye; and eight great-grandchild­ren; sisters, Heather (John) Shaw, Falmouth; and Maxine (Victor) Chandler, Upper Vaughan; sister-in-law, Wilda Walker; and brothers-inlaw, Lloyd Rafuse and Granville Fraser; and his former spouse, Lloma Myles. John had many nieces and nephews whom he thought the world of. He was predecease­d by sisters, Laurel Walker, Patricia Fraser and Sandra Rafuse; and brothers, Frank and Gerald Walker. In his teenage years John was a member of the Royal Canadian Sea Cadets and in his 20s, he pulled tug-of-war. He was a long-time member of Hants West Ground Search and Rescue and volunteere­d during the Swiss Air recovery efforts. John was employed throughout Canada in the constructi­on industry for most of his life. He operated a number of businesses in the past as well, including a fish market, peddling vegetables and concrete floor finishing. In keeping with Dad’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. A celebratio­n of John’s life will take place at a later date.
