CONWATH, Edward George

Age 75, Lower Truro, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2020 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro with Evelyn, the love of his life by his side. Ed was born to the late George and Marguerite (Chapman) Conwath on June 6, 1944 in Toronto, Ont. Ed spent his early life in Toronto where he attended Northern Secondary School and then went on to earn his Master Mechanic degree. He then owned a successful auto repair service station. When he made the decision to stop being his own boss, he gave up the service station and went to work for Karcher Canada as their service supervisor. He travelled all over Canada training distributors to set up and or repair the power washer equipment. He also travelled to Germany to Karcher’s head office. Ed had a keen interest in gardening and often grew a small vegetable garden. He took great pride in the landscaping of his property in Brampton, Ont., where he lived until moving to Nova Scotia in 2010 to marry his sweetie, Evelyn (Ryan-whidden). Ed and Evie loved to travel and go on cruises. Left behind to mourn are his loving wife, Evelyn; daughter, Christine; brother, Ralph; sister, Gina; best friend and cousin, Richard (Lois) Chapman; stepchildren, Brian (Holly) Whidden, Trish (Derick) Robertson; special granddaughter, Tori, and many other grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Russell; sisters, Madilyn and Eleanor; and his stepmother, Agnes (Mcmullan) Conwath, whom he loved and admired. Agnes became his "mother" when Ed was ten years old. Ed passed knowing how much he was loved. No service by request. Interment will be in Robie Street Cemetery, Truro at a later date.
