Thomas Bagley

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye too soon to Thomas Edward Bagley who resided in Elmsdale until his untimely passing on April 19, 2020.

Born in Saint John, N.B. April 21, 1949 to parents Edward and Eileen (Mullaly) Bagley.

Survived by his wife, Patsy (Aucoin); married June 16, 1973 in Chatham, N.B.

Also survived by daughter, Charlene Bagley (Steven Carter) and grandchildren, Brody and Braea Carter (the lights of his life). Also survived by adoptive daughters, Karla and Amanda Bagley.

Around the age of 15, Tom enlisted in the Reserves and continued until the age of 17 when Tom began his life’s adventure and enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy as RCN/CAF as a leading Seaman for 10 years of service, sailing on HMCS Bonaventure, HMCS St. Laurent, and the HMCS Margaree.

A retired HIAA crash rescue firefighter for 31 years who sat as president of his local for many years. A volunteer firefighter for Elmsdale and Enfield stations for approximately 20 years service. A 3rd degree knight of the Knights of Columbus St. Bernard’s council 11625 in Enfield. A member of the Lions Club for many years volunteering in the community. An avid Harley Davidson lover who was a lifetime member of HOG and sat on as Atlantic Director from 93/ 97 and Regional Director from 99/03. A valued member of Snowmobiles of Nova Scotia (SANS) since 2016.

Tom, a man who would take the shirt off his back and give it to a stranger. He was an honest, kind, generous man who was always looking to help right until the very end. His generosity will never be forgotten.

Tom was an amazing father and grandfather who wanted nothing more than to make our lives easier in any way. The moment you would bring up his grandchildren you would see the sparkle in his beautiful blue eyes. Their bond was so very special and will never be forgotten.

Tom loved being outdoors. He loved fishing, hunting, ski-doing, driving his ATV, going for bike rides and just being outside. He was knowledgeable about nature and was a natural in this element. His outlook on life will never be forgotten.

Tom will be remembered as a great storyteller, and a man who was not shy for words. He would strike up a conversation with anyone, friend or stranger. His words will never be forgotten.

Tom enjoyed being busy and was never shy of work. A jack of all trades and skilled in many areas as painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, construction and many more. When most dads helped build their kids a treehouse, Tom helped his daughter build her home. His love and dedication will never be forgotten.

Funeral and service arrangements will be planned at later date.
