MACASKILL, Claude F. "Bud"

-

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear Dad on April 24, 2020 in Camp Hill Veterans’ Memorial Building, QEII. Bud never lost his incredible sense of humour, he loved to make people laugh! Bud was born in Halifax on February 3, 1929 to Claude Angus and Lucy (Mcintyre) Macaskill. Bud joined The RCAF in 1951 and his career in telecommunications spanned 43 years, retiring in 1994 as a Master Warrant Officer. During those years he and his family enjoyed living in and travelling to many provinces in Canada as well as Lahr, Germany. When Bud retired he moved back to his family home on Rowe Avenue. He was known for his meticulous workshop, a place for everything, and you could always see him walking his dog around the neighborhood. Bud and his wife Judith spent countless hours at their second home in Bayswater enjoying walks on the beach and the company of wonderful neighbors. This was the place where Bud fine-tuned his carpenter skills, working on his cottage. He is survived by his sons, Jack (Colette), British Columbia; and Jeff (Michele), Halifax; grandchildren, Jace, Jarrett, Jessica and Sarah; sisters, Margaret Flynn (Peter), Emily Boisvert (Mozart); sister-in-law, Mary Jones; and best friend, Valerie Shaffner. Bud was predeceased by his parents; his wife; and mother of three sons, Lorraine (Jarrett); late wife, Judith (Davis); son, Steven (Carolann); brother, Wallace (Catherine); and sister, Marjorie Lee (Stanley). Bud will always be remembered and loved by his family and all who knew him. Celebration of Bud’s life will be held at a later date, due to the present Covid-19 pandemic and will be announced at that time.
