BARRON, Robert Alexander

Age 86, of Aylesford, Kings Co., passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2020, in Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born on July 26, 1933, in West Gore, Hants Co., he was the son of the late Robert and Ruby (Anthony) Barron. Robert had served his country for 25 years in the Royal Canadian Air Force, being stationed in Germany, Winnipeg and then to Greenwood in 1966. Upon retirement from the military, he worked in R.V. Sales and Service and had owned R.A. Barron Repair in Aylesford for many years. Robert was a former member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Ortona Branch No. 69, Berwick. He loved hunting and touring on his ATV. Robert and Amina spent many winter weekends at their snowmobile camp in Dalhousie Crossing and hot summer days at their trailer at Kirk’s Brook. Besides his parents, Robert was predecease­d by his wife, the former Amina P. Anthony; sons-inlaw, James Mclean and Shaun Stoddart; daughter-in-law, Elisabeth Barron. Surviving are daughters, Sandra Mclean, Coldbrook; Christine Stoddart and Kathy (Robert) Lutz, both of Morden; son, Robert Barron Jr., Aylesford; grandchild­ren, Mike (Megan) Mclean, Katie (Nic) Schofield, Geoff (Melissa) Barron, Chris (Vikki) Barron, Tyler (Caitlin) Barron, Seth (Kady) Stoddart, Amina (Jordan) Stoddart, William (Courtney) Lutz and Daniel Lutz; great-grandchild­ren, Madelyn Schofield, Lily Mclean and Ned Stoddart; sister, Hilda (Clyde) Blois, Gore; several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. A private graveside service will take place in Kennetcook Cemetery at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to Victorian Order of Nurses - Annapolis Valley Branch, Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or to your favourite charity.
