CAMERON (Tucker), Florence Mae

-

Passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 23, 2020 in Lake Oswega, Ore., after a long battle with cancer. She was thankfully surrounded by her family and is finally with her "dear Harold". True to her tough Scottish roots, she battled longer and harder than anyone ever expected. Florence was one of five children born to the late Walter and Alvirda (Macdonald) Tucker on Tatamagouche Mountain in 1935. In August 1954, she married the love of her life, Harold Cameron, of Denmark; in Truro. Over the course of their life together, they ventured to Fairbanks, Ala., lived in Salem Ore., and retired in Casa Grande, Ariz. They were together for 62 wonderful years until Harold’s passing in September of 2016. Florence never met a stranger and you were always greeted with a beaming smile and boisterous laugh that would warm your heart. Faith was a very important part of her life and she gave tirelessly to First Presbyterian Church in Casa Grande Ariz., ultimately serving as a Deacon. Florence was a dedicated volunteer in all the communities, in which she lived. She was a loyal friend, caring sister and aunt, loving mother and wife. Florence’s spirit and zest for life will live on in those of us whose lives she touched and she will always be in our hearts. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Harold; brother, Bob Tucker; grandson, Greg Saxton. She is survived by daughters, Joanne (Bob) Saxton, Sheri and Lori; and grandson Robbie Saxon. In addition, she is survived by her sisters, Tillie Armstrong, Eleanor Norrie and Margie Brannen; and their extended families. The family would like to give a heartfelt Thank You to the Autumn Health Care, Lake Oswega. Their kindness and care were instrumental in helping Florence transition through this difficult journey. Also a special Thank You goes to her nephew, Robert Tucker of Amherst, with whom Florence had a close connection for his support during her illness. The family couldn’t have done it without these wonderful people! In lieu of flowers, if desired, a donation in Florence’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice. A memorial will be planned at a later date. Private messages of condolence may be sent to the family by viewing Florence’s obituary online and selecting "Send A Condolence" at: www.mattatallvarnerfh.com
