Age 92, of New Mi­nas, passed away on Mon­day, May 4, 2020 in Val­ley Re­gional Hos­pi­tal, Kentville. Born on Oc­to­ber 29, 1927 in Great Par­adise, N.L., she was a daugh­ter of the late Daniel and Jane (Hann) Pomeroy. She was the old­est liv­ing res­i­dent of Great Par­adise and was proud to be from New­found­land. Rose spent the greater part of her life in Stephenvil­le, N.L., where she raised her fam­ily and was in­volved in many com­mu­nity ac­tiv­i­ties in the area. Mom will be lov­ingly re­mem­bered as the fam­ily ma­tri­arch, for her beauty, her quick wit, her hu­mour and her un­con­di­tional love for her fam­ily. She was de­voted to her chil­dren, grand­chil­dren, great­grand­chil­dren and her nieces and neph­ews. She was loved by all and will be for­ever missed. She is sur­vived by daugh­ters, Jane Churchill (Don), New Mi­nas; Mau­reen (Paul) Ab­bott, Port au Port, N.L.; Charlotte (Paul) Ben­jamin, Sh­effield Mills; Sharon Caul, New Mi­nas; sons, Philip Caul, Kip­pens, N.L.; Michael Caul (Rox­anne), Point au Mal, N.L.; grand­chil­dren, Kelly Ab­bott, Ja­nine Ab­bott, Damien Churchill, Tara Os­mond, Justin Hop­kins, T.J. Doucette, Krista Sk­erry, Melissa Mac­don­ald and Ash­ley Scott; great-grand­chil­dren, Madison, Alexis, Is­abella, Kyle, Casey, Kins­ley, Avaleigh and Jonathan; sis­ter-in-law, Mary Pomeroy, Fort Mcmur­ray, Alta.; many nieces and neph­ews. Rose was the last sur­viv­ing mem­ber of her im­me­di­ate fam­ily. She was pre­de­ceased by her first hus­band, Philip Caul; her sec­ond hus­band, Wil­liam "Barry" Mccann; in­fant twin daugh­ter, Loretta; eight sis­ters; three broth­ers; and son-in-law, Lionel Churchill. Cre­ma­tion has taken place and there will be no vis­i­ta­tion by re­quest. A pri­vate funeral ser­vice will be held in St. Joseph’s Ro­man Catholic Church, Kentville. In­urn­ment will take place in Holy Cross Ceme­tery - Colum­bar­ium, Kentville. A pub­lic funeral ser­vice will be held at a later date. Do­na­tions in mem­ory may be made to Val­ley Hospice Foun­da­tion or a char­ity of choice.
