BOYLAN, Mary Alice

-

Age 79 of Halifax. It is with sad hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who passed away peacefully in the arms of her daughters, on Sunday, May 3, 2020. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Egbert and Alice (Gay) Caldwell. Mom grew up on the family farm in Hardwood Lands. In her early years she worked in the insurance industry, followed by the retail industry (Sears Canada) and then took great pride in her many years of babysitting children. What Mom enjoyed most was being with her children, grandchildren and greatgranddaughter. Mom will be deeply missed by her daughters, Cindy (Tony) Campbell, Brookside and Carla (Mike) Maloney, Cole Harbour; her cherished grandchildren, Corey and Casey Campbell, Matthew and Ryan Maloney and great-granddaughter, Mary Isabella Campbell-sweet. Mom was predeceased by her husband and best friend, Ross Boylan; brothers, Egbert and Kenneth Caldwell, Truro; sisters, Blanche Tanner, Milford and Muriel Caldwell (in infancy). Survived by sisters-in-law, Helen Caldwell and Elizabeth Caldwell, Truro and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Many thanks to family and friends who have helped our Mom during her times of need through her many battles with cancer; Mary Lou Wilson, Barbara Blackburn, Margaret and George Simpson. Special thanks to Bea and Kevin Stankard, and her cousins whose love and devotion to our mother in too many ways to mention has comforted her through the years. Special thanks to her best friend and confident, Marion Oldham for making life just a better place for our mother. At Mary’s request, cremation will take place under the direction of Dartmouth Funeral Home Ltd. A private family burial will take place at a later date. Donations may be sent to the Canadian Cancer Society. Condolences may be sent to: www.dartmouthfuneralhome.ca

Goodbye my family, my life has passed.

I loved you all to the very last. Weep not for me, the courage take. And love one another for my sake. I’m with your father, where I belong.

Go on with life, and be strong. For those we love don’t pass away.

They walk beside us every day.
