MACDOUGALL (Henneberry), Nora Bonita "Bonnie"

Of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2020 from COVID-19. Born on Devils Island on December 17, 1934. Bonnie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry Macdougall; and son, Michael Macdougall. She is survived by her children: son, Richard (Linda); daughter, Michelle (Doug), daughter, Joanne (Becki); and daughter-in-law, Pat. She was a proud grandmother of nine grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren, the absolute joys of her life. Bonnie was a spunky and full of life woman who could often be found telling stories and boasting about her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to all of the residents in Northwood. Bonnie met the love of her life and husband, Henry and married him in 1954. Bonnie went back to school in the early 80’s to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Education, graduating in 1985. A preschool teacher, Bonnie worked at the North End Dartmouth Boys & Girls club. After working as an Early Childhood Educator Bonnie embarked on opening her own in home daycare. For several years Bonnie welcomed neighbourhood children into the home with open arms and an abundance of love. Bonnie had devoted her life to her family and the well-being of others. Bonnie was known to be a feisty Red Hatter, impeccable crafter, master baker and a powerful educator. Bonnie was an avid collector of many things, specifically: jewellery, porcelain dolls and flashy clothing. Bonnie always aimed to look classy regardless of the event or day. Bonnie was an incredible women who loved being the life of the party and telling wonderful stories about her family. Due to the current situation, remembrance and celebration of life will be delayed until we can do so together. Bonnie would want us to gather and recount countless stories about her.
