It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Jason Alex "Jay" Moser, age 43, of Linacy, on Thursday, May 7, 2020. Jay was a loving husband of 15 years to Bridget (Mcdonald), and devoted dad to Brianna (Dylan), Cade and Cassie. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of Debra Fern Spalding, New Glasgow; and Alan James (Shelly) Moser, Bible Hill; and stepfather, Robert Spalding, Melbourne, Fla. Jay also leaves behind his older brother, Kevin (Jessica); and twin brother, Joseph "Joe" (Kelly); Joe’s daughter, Jessica; aunts, Sheri Campbell (Calvin), Wilma (Randy) Russell, Sandra Acheson (Trevor), Sterling Moser (Cathy); uncles, George (Marilyn) Campbell, Doug (Trudy) Campbell, Bruce (Dolly) Campbell, Glenn (Colleen) Moser, Brian (Linda) Moser, Roland Moser (Donna); stepsister, Natasha (Pepper) Hughes; father and mother-inlaw, Grant and Barb Mcdonald; sisters-in-law, Debbie Zinck and Donna (Rick) Lamey; brother-inlaw, Mike Mcdonald (Kim); numerous nieces; nephews; and cousins; many friends. Jay was predecease­d by maternal grandparen­ts, Sheldon "Punny" and Shirley Campbell; paternal grandparen­ts, Alexander and Beulah Moser; "Nanny Lew", Doris Lewis; brother-in-law, Robert Zinck. Upon graduation from high school, he served with the United States Army, retiring with the rank of Staff Sergeant in 2001. Returning home to Pictou County, Jay worked for Dexter Constructi­on where his strong work ethic and outgoing personalit­y saw him quickly rewarded with a superinten­dent position. He was currently employed as a superinten­dent with Costin Paving, Amherst, a division of Dexter Constructi­on. For a short period of time he and Bridget operated Flex Water Sports Inc., canoe and kayak sales and rentals. Jay was an avid sports fan and NFL football was his passion. He tirelessly cheered on his Tampa Bay Buccaneers, despite their ranking. Jay and Bridget enjoyed hosting their annual Super Bowl party, to which they welcomed many dear friends and family. Jay proudly and painstakin­gly prepared his famous chicken wings for all to enjoy. He enjoyed Bbqing, hunting, fishing - anything that took him outdoors. Jay especially enjoyed spending time with his family and his fur buddy, Sniper. He was a huge fan of his children’s sport activities; Brianna’s basketball, Cassie’s soft ball and volleyball and Cade’s baseball and hockey. Jay became known as the "clock guy" at Cade’s hockey games and was a team fundraiser extraordin­aire! Jay and Bridget shared a "lifetime" of beautiful memories, working together to raise and care for their children, travelling and spending any spare time they had together "always having each other’s back".
