SUTHERLAND, Eunice Kathleen

-

Of Sydney. As gracefully and quietly she walked through this earth, just as gracefully and quietly she left it. It is with much sadness that we, the family of Eunice Kathleen Sutherland, announce her passing on May 8, 2020 in Macgillivray Guest Home in Sydney. Born September 16, 1933 in Sydney, she was the oldest daughter of the late Rod and Agnes (Woodworth) Macintyre. Mom was raised in Catalone and spent her married life in Gabarus. She graduated from Morrison High School, Glace Bay in 1951 and Provincial Normal College, Truro in 1952. She taught for several years at schools in Hornes Road and Gabarus. For many years she was a bookkeeper with Clearwater Lobsters. She belonged to Gabarus Seniors Group and was a former member of Gabarus Fire Department, Ladies Auxiliary. Eunice was an adherent of Zion Wesley United Church, Gabarus Lake. Her hobbies included rug hooking, baking, cooking and quilting. She was the best mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and mother-in-law anyone could ask for. Family was her everything, she was our rock, our shoulder to lean on and our greatest supporter. Eunice is survived by her children Glenn (Brenda), New Glasgow; Kevin, Gabarus; Wayne (Donna), Tantallon; Janeen (Geoff) Douglas, Rothesay, N.B.; Leanne (Scott) Munroe, Marion Bridge; John (Janelle), Tantallon; grandchildren, Don (Amber),ryan (Katie), Nick (Sarah), Kate (Chris), Hannah, Emma, Grant, Matthew, Riley, Josh, Carter and Jack; great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Campbell, Lachlan, Olivia, Jacob, Conor, Ethan; sister and best friend, Florence Macintyre, Catalone; brothers, Fred, Marion Bridge; Allison (Donna), Sydney; sisters-in-law, Janie Macintyre, Catalone; Vivian Sutherland, Sydney; and Phyllis Macdonald, Glace Bay; also many nieces and nephews who she loved and was very proud of. "Goodnight, I love you"

Miss Me But Let Me Go When I come to the end of the road And the sun has set for me,

I hope you will realize

My pain at last is free, Miss me a little... but not too long And not with your head bowed low, Remember the love that we once shared

Miss me... but let me go.

For this is a journey that we all must take

And each must go alone,

It’s all a part of a master plan

A step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick at heart

Just go to some friends you know, Try burying your sorrows in some good deeds

Miss me... but let me go.
