HAWBOLDT, Sylvia Joyce Adele

Age 83, Churchvill­e, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2020, in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born on December 3, 1936, in Springvill­e, she was a daughter of the late Mathias "Mike" and Lillian "Hazel" (Giddings) Legere. Sylvia was member of Springvill­e Presbyteri­an Church, Springvill­e. Marrying a military man in 1958, she traveled and lived throughout the world with her late husband, Bob. Sylvia’s quiet demeanor and internal resolve had a wonderful influence on the eight beautiful children she and Bob raised. She was an accomplish­ed homemaker who enjoyed knitting, crocheting and quilting. Sylvia tirelessly volunteere­d with the girl’s club, at church functions and in various capacities in the community. Her faith and trust in her Lord permit us to state, that for Sylvia, "Life has changed; not ended!". Surviving are daughters, Theresa Hawboldt, Edmonton, Alta.; Valerie (Dan) Glendennin­g, Bathurst, N.B.; Lynn Hawboldt (Mike Currnock), Cole Harbour; Tanya (Dennis) Balesdent, New Glasgow; Christine Hawboldt (Kirk Drummond), Freetown, P.E.I.; sons, Mike (Gloria) Hawboldt, Kingston; Robert (Jessica) Hawboldt, Calgary, Alta.; James (Cassandra) Hawboldt, Winnipeg, Man.; 14 grandchild­ren; sister, Ellen Murphy, Trenton; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predecease­d by her husband, Robert William Hawboldt; grandson, Lyle; sisters, Bessie Eva in infancy, Linda Fraser, Vinie Butler and Helen Macinnis. A private graveside service will be held in Springvill­e Cemetery. A celebratio­n of Sylvia’s life will be held at a later date.
