John was a long-time member of the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) Local 269 working on the piers of Halifax for many years. He was a simple man who loved nature, long walks and getting together with friends to share a cup of coffee and a tale or two. Born and raised on a farm in rural Prince Edward Island, he enjoyed getting his hands dirty in a garden and lending a hand when needed. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at Parkstone for their exceptional care and compassion, with a special shout-out to Jennifer, Kelsey, Lesley and Christine. Due to restrictions imposed by COVID-19 a celebration of John’s life and interment will be held at a later date. If desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be welcome or to a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home in Halifax. may God hold you in the palm of His hand"
