DAHR, Barbara Mary
Age 80, of Nictaux, Annapolis Co., passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2020, in Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born on January 27, 1940, in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Clarence E. and Mary M.D.F. (Creelman) Westlake. Barbara was a member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Middleton and South Shore Bluegrass Association as she loved playing guitar. She enjoyed camping all the summer season long and was a member of Seabreeze Campers Club. Barbara enjoyed knitting and was a former C.B. Radio enthusiast. Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Gordon A. Dahr; daughters, Marianne (Patrick) Dahr, Inglisville; Faith (Rob) Mcculley, Spa Springs; sons, Gordon Steven "Ted" (Shannon) Dahr, Cold Lake, Alta.; Kenneth (Kimberley) Dahr, Dawson Creek, B.C.; Bill (Wendy) Dahr, Wilmot; former daughter-in-law, Anne (Trac) Pearson, Dawson Creek, B.C.; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Diane (Joe) Layton, Miramichi, N.B.; brother, Reg (Darlene) Westlake, Halifax; sister-in-law, Alice Westlake; brother-in-law, Leonard Keating; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by daughters, Karen Marie and Linda Lou, both in infancy; granddaughter, Eisha Colleen; great-grandson, Holden in infancy; sister, Sheila Keating; brothers, Fred, Ron, Doug and Jack (Isabel) Westlake. A memorial service will take place at a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Multiple Sclerosis Society - Atlantic Division or to Canadian Cancer Society. The family would like to say a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital for their care, comfort and compassion shown to Barbara.
