GRAVES, Walter Freeman
Age 83, passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 14, 2020 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Port Lorne, he was a son of the late Joseph and Hattie Graves. Walter was a retired heavy machine mechanic having worked for Twin City Dairies, G.N. Reagh & Sons Ltd., Middleton and later became self-employed helping out many farmers in the area. He was a founding member of the Port Lorne & District Fire Department where he served as a long time Fire Chief. Walter will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his second wife, Sandra; son, Jon Graves (Pauline Krell); and grandchildren, Jaydon and Janessa Graves, Pilot Butte, Saskatchewan; daughter, Marie (David) Schurman, and grandchildren, Kevin and Devon Grant, Billy Joseph Robicheau, Steff Kinsman, Ryan Carrier, Kentville; greatgrandchildren, Infinity, Eric, Isabella, Sophia; brothers, John (Olive) Graves, Bridgetown; Allen (Sharon) Graves, Port Lorne; stepdaughters, Pamela (Kevin) Macleod of Truro; Susan (Gerry) Hamilton, of Rouyn-noranda, Que.; Sandy Murray of Middleton; stepsons, Peter Mollins of North Williamston; Paul Mollins of Truro; Tim (Julie) Mollins, Granville Ferry; and many stepgrandchildren; and step greagrandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, the former Barbara Ann Brinton. A private family graveside service will be held in Fundy View Cemetery, Port Lorne with Pastor Heather Pearlegillis officiating.
