Age 83, Pomquet. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, dad, brother, papa, uncle and dear friend. Simon died peacefully on May 18, 2020 in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born in Pomquet, he was a son of the late Edmund and Mary Virginia (Muise) Broussard. In earlier years Simon worked at tying steel at various places and then went on to Michelin from where he retired in 1991. Simon loved to travel to Ontario with his wife Marie to visit his family and friends. He enjoyed cooking a good feed of lobsters and playing a great game of cards with a nice cold beer, with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marie; children, Mary (Curtis) Myette, Fall River; Edmund (Loretta), Ontario; Christina (Kevin) Mackay, Westville; and Pauline (David) Mason, Brookfield; sisters, Julie Broussard and Shirley Macdonald (Stewart Robertson) of Pomquet; sisters-in-law, Isabel and Therese Broussard of Pomquet. Papa Simon will also be missed dearly by his four grandchild­ren, seven great-grandchild­ren; and many nieces and nephews. Predecease­d by sisters, Carol, Anne, Margaret, Theresa and Josephine; brothers, Joe and Jerry. Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Covid 19 restrictio­ns, there will be a private family funeral service on Friday at 11 a.m. with a livestream link provided on C. L. Curry website.
