PECK, Troy David

-

Age 50, Truro. We are beyond broken hearted that on June 18, 2020, the Lord came and took his child, Troy, home. Troy left this world wrapped in his wife’s arms with his parents by his side and his son’s visit playing in his memory while The Hip played in the background. Troy was born in Cold Lake, Alta. Military life saw him grow up in Trenton, Ont., Lahr, Germany, Comox, B.C., Borden, Ont.; and Ottawa, Ont. Many summers were spent at the family cottage in Brule and with grandparents in Truro. After attending Algonquin College for Tourism & Hospitality, Troy worked at the Weston Hotel in Ottawa followed by a career with the City of Vancouver Planning Department. Returning home to Nova Scotia, he lived in Brule and Halifax before buying a house in Truro in 2006. In 2007 Troy met his soulmate, Jacqueline at Sunset Watch Campground in Brule. It was an instant love and the years that followed were the highlight of both their lives. They were married at Sunset Watch and soon after, met the son they would adopt there. On any given day you could find Troy out in his garden enjoying nature, listening to music or spending time with his family. Sundays would find Troy helping run S.T.A.R, a program for kids with special needs. Troy is survived by his best friend and wife, Jacqueline; his buddy and son, Dalton; loving parents, Neil and Patricia; brother, Trevor (Jennifer); sister, Shannon (Dave) Smith; in-laws, Dave and Trina Goodwin; brother-in-law, Jeffrey (Ashley); nephews, Cameron, Christopher and Benson; nieces, Kyra, Meaghan, Colbey, Brooke and Megan; god daughters, Shannon Clay and Raenah Willbond; many aunts, uncles, cousins, amazing friends and a special little princess. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Bert and Elsie Fisher, Neil and Shirley Peck. Troy truly understood the beauty of moments and never took the gift of life for granted. He was amazed at the image of God in humanity and willfully chose to see the best in everyone. Troy inspired us all to be better people. In memory of Troy, find someone who may be struggling in some way that you could help or advocate for accessibility and make the world a better place. In the words once penned to Troy by a favorite band "happy days, what a show, what a night". A Day of Remembrance will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, where online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.colchestercommunity.com
