FRASER, Robert Charles Joseph "Bob"

-

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert "Bob" Charles Joseph Fraser, age 72, who passed away peacefully with loved ones by his side on Tuesday, December 29, 2020. Bob was born to the late Bernice ( Arthur) Fraser and Douglas Fraser in Halifax. He is survived by his wife, Doris (Leblanc) Fraser; sons, Robert Fraser Jr. (Debbie), David Fraser (Amanda), David Simpkin (Sandra); daughter, Tina Simpkin; his grandchildren who called him "Puppy": Reece, Connor, Jansyn, Hannah and Brooke Fraser and Thomas, Annabelle, Parker and Mylah Simpkin; his siblings, Douglas (Elva) andwarren Fraser; and sisters-in-law, Emerice, Ida, Sylvia (Bernie); his nieces and nephews, Krista, Angela, Shawn, Ryan, Michael, Sarah, Evelyn, Bill and Henry; as well as his great-nieces and nephews. Bob was an exceptional family man. He was proud of his children and family. He brought light, positivity and laughter to every room he entered. He always had a willingness to help so many people, especially those who experienced hard times and needed it the most. He loved the outdoors. Hunting and fishing with his dear friends, Murray, Dave, Archie and Cyril to name a few, brought him great joy. Then there were his dogs. Oh, his dogs, although he would never admit to favourites, Shilo was special. Shilo was so smart and hung on every word Bob said. They were inseparable. Bob grew up in Halifax on Bayers Road, went to Saint Catherine’s Church and loved to listen to the teachings of Roy O’hearn. He had a career at The Bay for many years. After leaving The Bay, he began painting homes. His work spoke for itself and before long, he had more homes to paint than he knew what to do with. Bob would promise to paint three rooms and paint five. He loved to give people a "deal" and make them feel special. He also worked for The Berkeley retirement homes as the supervisor of maintenance. He loved his job, the family he worked for and the residents who he treated like family. Bob will be missed by all who knew him. He would be the first to say, "No tears over me. Enjoy your precious time together AND look after each other." That will be easier said than done. We will never forget you and love you dearly. The family would like to express their gratitude for the nurses at the QEII for taking such good care of their "Puppy". Due to COVID-19 restrictions no funeral service is scheduled at this time. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the SPCA or your local homeless shelter. Online condolences: www.coleharbourfuneral.com
