CLATTENBURG, Gwen Gladys

-

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Gwen Gladys Clattenburg, age 66 of Southampton, announces her peaceful passing on January 3, 2021 at home surrounded by her family. Born November 12, 1954 in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Douglas Day and Gertrude Miller. Mom loved the outdoors. Her favourite season was summer in which she could be found riding on the lawn tractor, watching the birds in her yard, and spending time with her family and her kitties. She also loved spending time on the riverbank fishing with family and friends. Gwen very much enjoyed her work at Wal-mart and often talked about her hope to return. Another favourite pastime of Gwen’s in recent years has been her time spent with her friends group, "The Mayflowers", and their many memories made. A list of favourites would not be complete without mention of Mom’s love of Christmas, which she did enjoy with family and friends this season. Gwen will be missed by her husband, Robert Terrio; children, Amber Terrio (Mike), Adam Clattenburg (April); and stepdaughter, Melissa Terrio Macdonald (Sean); grandchildren, Alley and Alyssa; as well as extended family. She will also be dearly missed by her sister by choice, Val Hunter. Gwen was predeceased by her parents, Douglas and Gertrude. A special thank you to Carla in Palliative care, which Gwen always enjoyed her visits. Thank you to the Oncology department at the Victoria General Hospital, and to local cancer care navigator Susan Lawrence. Thank you as well to Dr. Krol-lass and Dr. Faryniuk who helped Gwen locally on her journey. Until we meet again, see you later Mom, Nanny, Gwen. Love you. In keeping with Gwen’s wishes, cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Campbell’s Funeral Home, Amherst (902-6679906). At Gwen’s request there will be no funeral. A celebration of life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Gwen’s memory may be made to Hope for Wildlife (Seaforth), or The Lodge that Gives (Halifax). Online condolences and sharing of memories may be forwarded to the family via: www.campbellsamherst.ca or by visiting the funeral home Facebook page.
