MELVIN, William A. "Bill"

Age 83 of Halifax, passed away peacefully at home on January 13, 2021. Born in Halifax he was a son of the late William Sr. and Margaret (Connolly) Melvin. Bill was an avid bowler and over the years he was involved with various leagues and teams. A perfect Saturday night for Bill was having a cold beer and listening to country music. He was a hardworking man who loved his family fiercely. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sylvia (Hiles); daughters, Susan (Martin) Fraser and Karen Westcott; grandchildren, Dustin, Melissa, Nikita, Jacqueline, Jared; great-grandchildren, Reid, Lincoln and Eastyn; sisters, Joan, Shirley (Mickey), Margie, Paula (Kevin), Debbie (Steve), Darlene (Dave); brothers, Frank (Stephanie), Joe (Donna), Jim, Pat (Debbie), Dave (Marg), George, and Stephen (Kathy); as well as many nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his son, Bobby; grandson, David; brothers, Edward, Wayne and Tony; and sister, Mary. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 21st, at 2 p.m. in J.A.
