TIBBETTS, Juanita Louise

-

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our loving mother on January 15, 2021. At age 83, Juanita passed away peacefully with her family at her side in Digby General Hospital. Born on September 20, 1937, Juanita was a daughter of the late Frank Lloyd Crosby Sr. and Bertha (Robinson) Crosby. She is survived by her daughters, Wanda (Philip) Macdonald, Doucetteville; Gail Connell, Dartmouth; son, Roger Tibbetts, Smith’s Cove; brother, Lee Roy (Bonnie) Crosby, Thornton, Ont.; sister, Shirley Thompson of New Minas; grandchildren, Paul Hearn, Andrew (Catherine) Connell, Andrea (Devin) Penney, Sarah Tibbetts (Grant Cahill) and Kate Tibbetts; great-grandchildren, Ava, Ethan, Ian, and Evelyn Connell and Dylan Hearn; plus many nieces and nephews. Juanita was predeceased by her husband, George Tibbetts; brother, Frank Jr. "Bing" Crosby; infant sisters, Belva and Patsy; and grandson, Stephen Hearn. Juanita enjoyed being part of the hospitality industry for many years holding various roles lastly working at the Mountain Gap Inn. Her hardworking, devoted work ethic was evident as a team player where she illustrated her kind and caring traits. Many who worked alongside her spoke of her funloving nature and good sense of humour. Juanita always put family first in everything she did. She worked tirelessly to make her nearest and dearest feel loved and cared for, she was the cornerstone of our family. The Sunday dinners, the cooking and baking, the special occasions she prepared for (especially Christmas which was her favorite) gave her great joy to share with others. She raised the bar when celebrating! Even though there were struggles with health problems in the past few years her strong faith in the Lord carried her through. She will be greatly missed by family and friends alike, as she was known for her warmth, kindness and compassion. Juanita requested (along with the family) a special thank you and acknowledgement to Dr. John Black for his many years of wonderful care (and a few laughs too). There will be a private family funeral service in Smith’s Cove Baptist Church, Rev. Mark Cress officiating. Livestreaming of the service can be viewed on January 20th at 2 p.m. on the following Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ Smiths-cove-baptist-churchwith-pastor-mark. Interment will be in Smith Cove Sulis Cemetery. In memoriam donations can be made to Smith’s Cove Baptist Church. Online condolences can be sent to: www.jaynesfuneralhome.com
