Age 96, of Wolfville, formerly of Kentville, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2021 in Wolfville Nursing Home. Born in Lakeville, she was a daughter of the late Percy and Nellie (Morton) Grover and the last surviving member of her immediate family. Emily was a Past Matron of the Evangeline Chapter No. 15 - Order of the Eastern Star and member of the Daughters of the Nile - Athena Temple No. 149. She was also a parishione­r of Orchard Valley United Church, New Minas. In addition to her parents, she was predecease­d by her first husband, Eldon Davidson; second husband, Lawrence Bigelow; sons, Michael and Beverly; brothers, Harold, Morton and Downey; and sister, Shirley Stewart. She is survived by her children, Laverne (Gerald) Porter, Lakeville; Gail (Jim) Titus, South Carolina; Kenn (Sarah) Bigelow, Kentville; Fred (Valerie) Bigelow, Lansdowne; grandchild­ren, Tania (Bill) Moore, Michael (Annie) Bigelow, Charlotte (Peter) Wilson and Kenni Bigelow; and great-grandchild­ren, Jacob, Jaden, Lauren, Liam and Jenna. The family would like to express its sincere thanks and appreciati­on to the 2nd floor staff of Wolfville Nursing Home and to Dr. Burgoyne for the excellent care and compassion shown to Emily over the years. There will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held at a later date to be announced. Donations in memory may be made to Orchard Valley United Church, New Minas or Evangeline Chapter No. 15 Scholarshi­p Fund.
