FULCHER, Mary Ann

-

It is with great sadness I announce the passing of my wife, Mary Ann Fulcher, on February 13, 2021 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Darby, Penn., on May 5, 1946, Mary Ann was the second of seven children, with five brothers and one sister, of the late Robert and the late Mary (O’hara) Aiken. Mary Ann was predeceased by her older brother, Robert Aiken; and is survived by husband, Wayne; Robert’s wife Debbie; brothers, Tommy, Bill (Nicoletta), Jonathan; sister, Karen (Steve) Kent and brother, Drew (Stephanie); nephews, Phil (Debbie), George, Danny (Sabrina) and Ben; and nieces, Kelsey and Maddy. On completing her education, Mary Ann worked in advertising for over 30 years, the last 24 of which was with Hutchins/y&r, a unit of world-wide marketing and advertising agency, Young & Rubicam. Following her retirement in 1997 as CEO of H/Y&R, Mary Ann continued her discovery of Canada and in 1999, we moved to our new home in Lower Lahave, Riverport. A passionate supporter of The United Way, she first served on the Board of UW of Greater Rochester and more recently UW of Lunenburg County. Mary Ann had many interests but only a few loves. She always believed she was extremely fortunate because she not only had perfect parents but also perfect siblings. She loved them all unconditionally. In these past days, friends and family, in remarking on their loss, have said that Mary Ann was the easiest person to like that they had known; that Mary Ann was an attentive, active listener; that Mary Ann was undivided in her attention when you were talking to her; that Mary Ann was truly interested in hearing what you had to say; and that Mary Ann cared about those around her. As her husband, I adored her. She was a true partner in every way. We shared our pasts, our present and planned our future together. We loved our life here in all ways. I have so many wonderful memories. And it will be these memories of Mary Ann and our life together that will help me through my loss. Like so many others, Mary Ann’s family who live in the USA have been impacted by the pandemic. We will be having an Irish party celebrating our lives with Mary Ann when this is over. We can hardly wait. Interment with family attending, will be at a later date in Shepherd’s Hill Cemetery, Riverport. For those who wish, donations can be made in Mary Ann’s memory to Lunenburg County Community Fund, a charity that was important to Mary Ann. www.sweenyfuneralhome.ca
