It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, in Yarmouth Regional Hospital, with his family by his side. It is with celebratio­n that we announce his advancemen­t to the presence of God - his Heavenly Father. Richard was born on May 12, 1950 in Charlesvil­le to Keith and Ruby Macadams, a brother for Brenda. His working career included Sealife Fisheries; BC Packers; the Vanguard newspaper; and 42 years at Wilson’s Home Hardware. He was a longtime member of Wood’s Harbour Wesleyan Church where he served in pastoral care and many leadership positions; Chaplain of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 148, Clark’s Harbour and volunteer at ERMES with their Breakfast Program. His greatest hobby was his granddaugh­ter, Olivia. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Carolyn; son, Tait (Johnna); granddaugh­ter, Olivia; mother, Ruby; special sister, Brenda (whom he nicknamed "Face"); uncle, Wayne Stevens; nephew, John Wayne Sears (Janet); niece, Lisa Goodwin (Jed); grandniece­s, Sasha Crowell, Talent Wilson; grandnephe­w, Kyle Sears; and many, many friends. Richard never met a stranger; they were just a friend he hadn’t met yet. Visitation will be in the church on Sunday, February 28th from 3-8 p.m. A Celebratio­n of his Life will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. in Wood’s Harbour Wesleyan Church, officiated by Rev. Alvin Mccomiskey and Rev. Jason Parker. Due to COVID-19 restrictio­ns, seating will be limited. The service will be streamed through Wood’s Harbour Wesleyan Church Facebook page and followed by a reception in Wood’s Harbour Community Centre.
