Age 63 of Yarmouth, passed away with his family by his side on February 24, 2021, in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Yarmouth on September 28, 1957, he was the son of the late Walter Douglas and Frances Mary (Amirault) Murphy. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Elizabeth "Liz" (Hall) Murphy; son, Jason Murphy (Chelsea Berry); daughter, Mandy (Drew) Jackson; stepsons, Blair (Colette) Churchill, Stephen (Tracey) Churchill, and Adam (Aurilie) Churchill, all of Yarmouth; Grampie/peepa to Jaxon, Jesse, Zoey, Camden, Zander, Rory Churchill; Forrest and Harrison Murphy; Emma Jackson, Chloe, and Brayden and Riley Donaldson; sister, Yvonne (Ralph) Woodman, Ottawa; nieces, Donna and Sharon of Ottawa. Kenny worked for Acadian Seaplants for 27 years and was involved in the industry for over 45 years. His current title was Resource Manager for Western Nova Scotia. In his spare time, he had a passion for woodworkin­g and loved camping. He was also an avid Cocacola collector and loyal Montreal Canadien’s fan. Visitation will be held Monday, March 1st from 7-9 p.m. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. A celebratio­n of Kenny’s life will be held Tuesday, March 2nd at 11 a.m. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel, with Mr. Stephen Bourque officiatin­g. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the Tri-county Victorian Order of Nurses (https://www.von.ca/en/ site/tricounty), or Friends of Gilles Boudreau Cancer Help Fund. Due to COVID-19 restrictio­ns, priority seating will be given to family and invited guests. The service will be Livestream­ed on Sweeny’s Funeral Home website. The family would like to thank the VON workers and the chemo nurses and staff for the care and compassion shown to him through his cancer journey.
