RUSHTON, Victor Franklyn

Age 92 of Debert, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2021, in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Debert, he was the son of the late Roy "Burt" and Kathleen (Selwah) Rushton. Victor formerly worked with the survey crew with the Department of Highways, worked in Weston, Ont., as an Ice Maker for the Maple Leaf organizati­on, did architectu­ral drafting for Cassidy, worked for Pontiac Paving, and spent 25 years working at Martel Constructi­on as a Road Builder. After his retirement, he played music for many years with the Barley Boys, Four Plus One and with the Elliott Family. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 55 years and Master of the Lodge in 1991. He is survived by many nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Rhoda Rushton, Truro; brother-in-law, Paul Soley, Economy. He was predecease­d by a sisters, Joyce Fiddes, Shirley Soley; brothers, Joseph (Joyce), Harold (Rhoda), Roy (Myrtle). Visitation will take place on Friday from 2-4 p.m., in Mattatall~varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, with a graveside funeral service to take place at a later date in the Folly Village Cemetery, Glenholme. (Please use the front doors of the funeral home, wear face masks and practice physical distancing.) Donations in memory may be made to the Victorian Order of Nurses.
