The family of Sharon Beverley (Macdonald) Bellefonta­ine regrets to announce her passing on April 10, 2021. Born and raised in Halifax, on September 2, 1943 to Stanley and Olive (Ellison) Macdonald. Sharon graduated from Halifax Infirmary School of Nursing in 1964. Soon after marriage to her husband, Jim Bellefonta­ine she chose to stay home to raise a family. In 1975 she returned to work with Jim helping build a successful office products business in Dartmouth. After early retirement Sharon returned to family life, supporting her children with their young families. Sharon will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 55 years, Jim Bellefonta­ine, Bedford. Sharon was predecease­d by both parents, Stanley and Olive Macdonald; her sister, Carol (Darryl) Clark; and brother, Edward. Survived by husband, Jim; sons, David (Sharon), Lower Sackville; Michael (Sonja), Dartmouth; Christophe­r (Gennie), Dartmouth; grandchild­ren, Matthew, Andrew and Samantha; Holly, Abbie and Alex; Sophie and Jacob. Sharon is also survived by brothers, Wayne (Diane) Mcdonald, Lower Sackville; Rick Macdonald, Lower Sackville; David (Barbara) Macdonald, Milton, Ont. Sharon also wished to say goodbye to so many she loved but did not have the opportunit­y. There was a special place in her heart she felt for close friends and family including Diana Clarke, Robert and Jan Bellefonta­ine, as well as her many nephews and nieces. Cremation and private ceremony has taken place and a celebrator­y memorial service will take place at a later date. Donations in memory of Sharon may be made to the VG Site, QEII Palliative Care Unit, The Heart and Lung Associatio­n of Nova Scotia, or charity of choice. Sharon’s family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at the QEII Health Sciences Centre, especially the Cardiac Unit on the 6th floor and the Palliative Care Unit in the VG Site for their kindness and care in the last few weeks.
