BASSETT, Raymond Thomas

Age 72 of St. Martin, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at home with his family by his side. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Thomas Bassett and the late Marie (Lapierre) Wesley. Following his retirement from George P. King Refrigeration Ltd., Raymond enjoyed his daily workouts at Acadie Fit. He loved watching the Blue Jays and the Green Bay Packers while playing Pool. Besides visiting most of Canada with his wife, he also travelled to the United Kingdom., Greece, China, but his favorite destination was Cuba. Raymond is survived by his wife of 47 years, Corinne (Comeau), St. Martin; daughters, Andrea (Brian) Bassett-comeau, Cape St. Mary; Shelley (Jamie) Goulden, Saulnierville; siblings, Marie Scanlan, Middle Sackville; Carol (Delbert) Robichaud, Meteghan; Harry Bassett, North Carolina; grandchildren, Paige, Kasey, Logan, Jakob; step granddaughter, Tiffany (Réjean); step great-grandson, Miguel. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Meteghan Funeral Home. A public graveside service will be held today, Friday, April 16th at 1 p.m. in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Saulnierville, officiated by Rev. Hospice Akoffodji. The family wishes to thank Dr. Alban Comeau, Dr. Jean-luc Dugas, the team at Saulnierville Pharmachoice, VON, Continuing Care and a special thank you to the nurses of Yarmouth Regional Hospital, Oncology Department.
