Age 81 of Timberlea, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2021 in Hants Community Hospital. Born on March 25, 1940 in Halifax, he was a son of the late Thomas and Helena (Brown) Welsh, and was one of 12 children. Tom spent his many career years employed with Sears Canada. Anyone who knew Tom well, knew that he could always be found puttering around the yard, repairing bicycles and small engines or gardening with a very green thumb. He was a collector of many things and had a passion for the sport of boxing as well as old trucks and cars. In his later years Tom enjoyed meeting friends for coffee and became a regular fixture at the local Tim Hortons. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ronnie, Victor, Fred, Donnie, Reg, Cyril; and sister, Lorraine. He is survived by his dedicated wife of 58 years, Karen (Jollimore); daughters, Tina (Brian) Henneberry of Tantallon; Lisa Welsh of Halifax; Crystal (Glenn) Woodworth of Guelph, Ont.; and daughter of their hearts, Nichole (Tyler) Burns; grandchild­ren, Thomas (Katie) Brown, Tera Brown and Alyssa (Brad) Peever; great-grandchild­ren, Sawyer, Emerson, Hunter, Amyiah and Caine; brothers, Denny and Richard; sisters, Emma and Marge (Harry). Cremation has taken place and arrangemen­ts for services will be made at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia. The entire family would like to give their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Robert Scovil of Timberlea for his many years of care and compassion, as well to the VON for their care and assistance over this past year. Tina, Lisa, Crystal and Nichole send out love and hugs to those who have been so kind and caring to their beloved mother during this trying time. Lastly, Karen would like to express her immense love and gratitude to her girls. She says she could not have made it through this without them.
