BALDASSO, Claudio

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Claudio Baldasso of Hatchet Lake.

He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Monday, August 30, 2021. He was born in Neversa Della Battaglia, Treviso Italy on May 5, 1934 and was a son of the late Angelo and Ester Baldasso. He was the brother of the late Julianno, Luigi

and Giuseppe, and survived by Emilia (Franco) and Vittorio (Maria), Treviso Italy. He is survived by his wife, Norina of 63 years. He leaves behind his children, Ester

Baldasso/caccin (Luigi), Treviso Italy; Walter (Fondel), Saskatchewan; Norma (Michael), Hatchet Lake; Claudia (Raymond), Hatchett Lake; Paolo (Wanda), Hammonds Plains; 11 grandchildren, 12 greatgrandchildren; many nieces

and nephews and family throughout the world. Claudio immigrated to Canada in 1954 where he made Canada his forever home. He started working for Standard Paving 10 days after his arrival for 35 years as a Forman. Then retired, however Claudio wasn’t quite ready to stay home so then went on and spent 15 years at Cherubini. For those of you who knew Claudio he was an avid gardener, we all enjoyed harvesting time and the wine made from his grapes in the garden. He worked tremendously hard for his family and was always there to provide his love and support to us all. Claudio will be remembered for his contagious smile. Special thanks to Renato, Pam, Danilo and Mara and our entire family for all the support and love provided. Dad had a very special place in his heart for Enzo Macorig and looked forward to his regular visits, and Alice Baldasso who always made

him smile. Special Thanks to Dr. Howard Contor for providing care for our father over the past 40 years, the VON’S and Palliative Care (Cindy Bell) for all their care

and support. Cremation has taken place under the care of Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10

a.m. Tuesday, September 7th in Saint Theresa’s Church, North Street, Halifax. Due to COVID-19 restrictions please call Atlantic Funeral Home (902) 453-1434 by 5 p.m. Saturday to reserve your attendance at the Mass. Family flowers only, donations can be made in Claudio’s memory to the Tema Contor Foundation.
