FRASER, Ruth Elizabeth

Age 81, of Welsford, Pictou Co., passed away peacefully in Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche, on Saturday October 9, 2021. She battled through several health crises the past few years, but sadly lost the fight against pancreatic cancer. Shopping was her passion, and she especially enjoyed a trip to Truro. Predeceased by her husband, Ronnie in 2016, she is survived by her son, Jeffrey Fraser (Sonya Swan); and daughter, Tammy Fraser (John Matheson); grandchildren, Brittany (Kevin), Emily (Tyler), Hayden, Hunter and Shaelyn; great-granddaughters, Kayleigh and Madison; brothers, Robert (Ann) Heighton, Ronnie (Sharon) Heighton, Keith (Marliyn) Heighton; sisters, Mary (Merlin) Monk and Faye (Dana) Jefferson; sisters-inlaw; and several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Pictou County Victorian Order of Nurses, all the caregivers and nurses who visited over the last few years, Dr. Bush and the nurses and staff of Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital. Funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Friday from St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, River John, with Rev. John Morrell officiating. COVID-19 restrictions will be in place, masks will be mandatory and proof of vaccination required. Burial will follow in Mountain Road Cemetery.
