FISHER, Mary Cora

-

Age 83, of Waterville, Kings Co. Always ready with a smile and a sense of shenanigans, our beautiful and loving mother finished her journey on the afternoon of Thursday, December 23, 2021, in Grafton. Mary was born and raised in Waterville to the late Nelson and Edith (Keddy) Hirtle. In the 70s, Dad and Mom returned to Waterville where they resided and raised their family. She enjoyed being a wife, mother, daughter, and sister. She enjoyed sitting on the front veranda and chatting with friends or strangers, tending to her gardens, yard sales, Frenchy's and decorating for each season or occasion. Mom attended CKRHS and graduated from Mack's Business College. She worked for a brief time in Halifax for the Government of Nova Scotia. In 1954, she fell in love with our dad and the love letters never ended. They were married in 1958 and settled into a few moves (Borden, Gagetown and Gander) with Dad's army postings until the final posting in Greenwood. Our mom was the epitome of "housewife", taking great pride in her home and raising her family. Mary is survived by her daughters, Robyn (Pete) Henderson of Grafton; Krista of Cambridge; and daughterin-law, Bonnie of Garland. She lovingly leaves behind her only grandchild, William Henderson of Waterville. She is survived by her brother, Brian (Linda); sister-inlaw, Laura; and several nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her adoring husband, Rob (or "Bob" as many called him) in 2020 and her only son Greg in 2018. As well, her in-laws, George and Frances Fisher (Somerset) and brothers, Norwood “Sonny” and Wayne Hirtle. We would like to sincerely say “Thank You" to all of mom's caregivers in the past few years. A special mention of appreciation to Dr. Robin Bustin who was steadfast in his support, especially in the last month of mom's life. The help, support and thoughtfulness of all can never be repaid yet will never be forgotten! Graveside service at a future date in Berwick Cemetery. Donations to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or charity of one's choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., toll free 1-855-8253448.
