CREASER (Larade) (Abriel), Theresa Marie

-

Age 79. It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother and grandmother who left us suddenly for her eternal rest from Colchester East Hants Health Centre on the evening of April 27, 2022. After visits and calls from family and friends, she joined the angels as she peacefully crossed over surrounded by her boys and those who loved her dearly.

Born in 1942, Theresa’s formative years were spent along the shores of Cheticamp Cape Breton until she moved to Halifax for work at Camp Hill Hospital. In 1965 she married Lawrence John Abriel (Popes Harbour) and settled in the rural community of Elderbank, where she and Lawrence made a home and raised their three boys. She was widowed in the fall of 1991 with the sudden passing of Lawrence Abriel. She remarried in September 1997 to Walter James Creaser. She is predeceased by her husband, Walter, by just four days; her parents, Joseph Placid Larade and Judique (Muise); and siblings, Pierre Theodore, Patsy, Alphonse, Cyril, Andrew, Margaret Ann, Marie Beatrice, Marie Sophie; and her first husband, Lawrence John Abriel (1931-1991). She is survived by her brothers, Leo, Marcel; and sisters, Marie Cecile, and Marie Stella, and families; her boys, Danny, Bruce, and Glen Abriel, along with their wives/partners; and her treasured grandchildren, Kevin (Danny), Ethan and Calen (Bruce), Nicole, Jadon, and Isaac (Glen). The family would like to sincerely thank the wonderful dedicated nurses and staff of Middle Musquodoboit Memorial Hospital and Colchester East Hants Health Centre for their love and care of our mother. Theresa was a kind and gentle soul who had a sincere faith in God and was ever vigilant in her prayers for her family, relatives, and friends. She was gentle, kind, with a wonderful sense of humor, and was a loyal friend to so many. She spent many years happily showing acts of care, kindness, and transportation for and with her special friends in Elderbank. It would not be uncommon to see Theresa with Kaye West, Mabel Mcculloch, and Anne Macdonald cruising the roads of Musquodoboit Valley, Stewiacke, and Truro on occasion. In place of flowers, donations can be made to the the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Alzheimer's Society, or Canadian Cancer Society. In mom's honor family admonishes everyone to perform a random act of kindness for someone without the want of recognition or reward. Give someone a lift, a helping hand, or simply a kind word. In this way, you will pay tribute to Theresa by helping someone in need, and reflect the kind and hopeful spirit that Theresa embodied throughout her entire life. Final arrangements were provided by Rowlings Funeral Home in Musquodoboit Harbour. A memorial ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 7th, in the St. Andrew’s United Church at 36 Elderbank Back Rd, Elderbank. The family invites all friends and relatives to gather immediately after the memorial dedication in the attached lower church hall. Condolences can be forwarded to the family contact email theresamariecreaser@gmail.com Private burial services are to be arranged at later dates.
