It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Lorna Lee Ann Rafuse, age 57, in the QEII Health Sciences Centre in Halifax, on Monday, May 9, 2022 with her daughter, son and daughter-in-law by her side. Born in Springhill, Lorna was a daughter of the late Wallace and Eva (Dowe) Rafuse (of Southampto­n). She will be deeply missed by her children, Jeremy Rafuse, Krystle (Kim) Estabrooks, and Chad Estabrooks; sisters, Sharon (Ricky) White, Halifax; Susan Rafuse, Amherst; brothers ,David (Tammy) Rafuse, Malagash; Douglas Rafuse, Amherst as well as her grandchild­ren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Lorna was a woman whose heart was worn on her sleeve. Though she had very little to give materially she made up for it with great love and compassion. Lorna’s love of her life was her children who she was so very proud of. She could be often heard speaking of them all. Lorna loved the Lord and she was often found giving praises to Him, and her bible was her strength. She loved spending time with those closest to her heart and her conversati­ons were deep and heartfelt with emotion. Lorna had a great sense of humour and her jokes will be missed, her kind and gentle mothering nature will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, Lorna was predecease­d by her grandparen­ts, Reginald and Annie Laura Dowe and her first husband, James Estabrooks. Cremation has taken place. A funeral service to celebrate Lorna’s life will be held on Saturday, May 14th, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Byron Corkum officiatin­g from Campbell’s Funeral Home Chapel, 98 Church St., Amherst (902) 667-9906. Lorna will be laid to rest with her parents in the Southampto­n Cemetery. Memorial contributi­ons in Lorna’s memory may be made to the Amherst Food Assistance Network.
