HARVIE, Marie

-

Age 80 of Maple Grove, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and dearest friend, Edie on June 24, 2022, at her home in Maple Grove. Born in Windsor, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Mavis Brightman. Marie was one of seven children. She valued family, especially her grandchildren, over everything else. This was closely followed by the love she had for her fur babies. She is survived by her husband, Avery; her daughter, Pamela (Ken); and her dearly-loved grandchildren, Shayna, Josh and Chloe; and her honorary granddaughter, Marrissa Mcfadyen. Marie is also survived by her niece, Stephanie (Tyler) and nephew, Jordan, who were very much like her own children and loved as such. She leaves behind her siblings, Ray, Perry (Helen), Bob (Pat), Ronnie (Char), Randy (Kim) and Annette, as well as nieces and nephews she loved dearly. Marie also leaves behind her dearest friend and shopping partner, Edie White and great friend, Donna Lawrence. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loved and treasured son, Shane; sisters-inlaw, Bonnie, Donna and Dora; brothers-in-law, Fred, Guy and Gordie. Anyone who knew Marie knew her love for her pets, and leaves behind her fur babies, Lola, Liza, Bruce, Ben and Bridgette, and fur grandbabies, Wes and Spark. The family would like to thank all medical personnel who helped Marie, especially the palliative care team, RN Dawn, Dr. Smith and VON RN’S Emily, Amanda and Linda. Without their assistance we couldn’t have made her wish to be at home come true. Cremation has taken place under the care of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, June 30th, in St. John the Baptist Anglican Cemetery, Maple Grove. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. John the Baptist Cemetery Fund.
