Age 81, Eastern Passage, passed away after a long battle with cancer. He was the son of the late Mary C. (Maclellan) and Archibald Macdonald of Blackstone, Cape Breton. Malcolm was predecease­d by wife Rita (Macdonald), daughter Karen Rehberg, and niece Adrienne Power. He is survived by daughter Tanya (David Naugle); son Shawn (Teisha); son-in-law Scott Rehberg; grandchild­ren Brett and Jenna Rehberg, Chelsea, Erika and Jamie Naugle, Grayson and Spencer; brothers Angus (Catherine), John J. (Joan), Lawrence (M.C.); sisters Anna (late Louis Beaton), Marguerite (Jimmy Macneil), Catherine Ann (Sander Beaton), Lexena (Don Johnson); sisters-inlaw Eileen Sampson, Reynolda, Anna and Judith Macdonald; as well as many nieces and nephews. Dad was a hardworkin­g man who served on the Dartmouth Police Department for 32 years. After retirement he worked as a returning officer for Elections NS. He was also an active member of the Eastern Passage Cow Bay Lion’s Club, where he served his community and enjoyed time with friends. Dad had a love of sports, especially when watching his teams, the Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Blue Jays. As long as a game was on, he was happy. Thank you to all the staff on 5W at the Dartmouth General Hospital and at the Ocean View Continuing Care Harboursid­e for the care he received. We also appreciate his friends Jack, Peter, Tom, Elaine, Ada, Kaye, Lila and many others who would pop in for visits. Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 3rd at St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church, Eastern Passage. Burial will be in St. Andrew’s Cemetery.
