-

It is with great sadness and loving memories that we accept the passing of our mother, Leah Mabel (Pineo) Langille, on April 28, 2024, in Ridgewood Assisted Living, Bridgewater, at the age of 96. Born in Hall’s Harbour, she was a daughter of the late John and Mabel (Power) Roscoe. She was a member of the Bethany Memorial Baptist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary in Aldershot. She spent a number of years training and working with the St. John Ambulance Organization and later worked at the Kentville hospital, admitting patients and performing EKG’S before moving to Toronto in 1972. Leah was a gentle, kind, compassionate and loving lady who never lost her sense of humour, love for pretty clothes and a good joke. She loved her family dearly and valued the many friendships that she made over the years. She enjoyed spending time during the summer at the cottage in Hall’s Harbour and trips to Florida in the winter. She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Jack) Whynot, Mahone Bay; son, Larry (Janet) Pineo, Kentville; stepdaughter, Lorraine Langille, Toronto; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews and wide circle of extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Lester “Sonny” Pineo; second husband, Arthur Langille; stepson, Garnet Langille; sisters, Vilda (Frederick) Parker, Isabel (Al) Borden; brother, Owen (Lorna) Roscoe; half-brothers, Murray Roscoe, Crowell Roscoe and great-grandson, Joshua Pineo. Cremation has taken place and there will no visitation, by request. A graveside service will take place at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 3, in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. A webcast of the service will be available on Saturday, May 4th. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the caregivers (her Flying Angels) and staff, for their care and kindness. Donations in memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
