Rhonda Bar­rett’s col­lec­tion of works are billed as “a self-di­rected ex­plo­ration of what it means to the artist, Rhonda Bar­rett, to be a fe­male in to­day’s world. It is in­formed by her read­ings, ob­ser­va­tions and per­sonal ex­pe­ri­ences of be­ing a woman re­cently turned mother, who is start­ing to ex­pe­ri­ence early tran­si­tion into crone.” Emo­tions are un­furled as fem­i­nin­ity is as­sessed from all an­gles—from por­traits to sym­bols to both modern and his­tor­i­cal ideas of wom­an­hood.
